LAMAAA Mission

To develop members and assist them acquire the necessary skills to promote themselves towards better positions and responsibilities.

To promote and perpetuate the prestige and professional status of municipal accountants and auditors.

To assist each other and develop professional camaraderie, team spirit and cooperation among its members.

To develop and improve educational techniques in management, commercial, proprietary, governmental accounting and auditing.

LAMAAA Benefits

LAMAAA offers one-hour monthly training session equivalent to one hour of continuing professional education (CPE) credit. The annual conference around May of each year offers eight hours of educational updates by famous speakers. At the monthly training sessions, you will hear the captains of the industry or the Chief Accountants speak. This is a way to stay abreast of changes in the accounting/auditing field. LAMAAA is a great place to network with people in our field. LAMAAA provides newsletters and websites with invaluable information on up-to-date issues and developments in our specific field of interest. 1. Linda Granados, President, called the meeting to order at 11:50 AM.
2. Introductions by the Board Members: Ray Ciranna, Lilibeth Co.
3. Treasurer’s Report: Per Lilia Liclican, there have been only 33 members who have paid out of 300 members.
A. Bank Statement balance as of July 1, 2009 was $8,669.34
B. Bank Statement balance as of September 30, 2009 is $ 7,112.03
4. TOPICS DISCUSSED:
a) Website Design: Purchased a new webhosting location where the new LAMAAAA will have exciting look, color, embossing, flashing lights and pictures, flexibility and login features.
b) Marketing: lanyard/ID pin with L AMAAA logo. Quote came at $1 per lanyard.
c) Membership blitzkrieg (bombardment) drive: Each member per Coordinator. Linda Granados suggested we start collecting the annual dues from departments with large numbers of members such as: CTR – 76, PW – 57, AIR – 38, RAP – 31, etc.
d) Raffle Prizes by Rhod De Vera: Issued a $ 1,000 check as seed money to purchase electronic items such as a laptop or big screen TV to be raffled at the 2nd Training Session on November 17, 2009.
e) Certificate of Appreciation designed by Sylvia Garcia of LAWA: Usually, a plaque of appreciation is handed out to long standing members. Due to ERIP, a big wave of LAMAAA members who will retire. A certificate printed by GSD is much cheaper compared to a plaque costing from $ 40-$60.
f) E-mailed Mars to audit previous years.
g) Philippine Typhoon Ondoy – Linda will e-blast message that LAMAAA is supporting the victims of natural disaster in the Philippines, to help in the recovery efforts from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Ketsana (known locally as Typhoon Ondoy). At least 140 people died in Manila.
h) Plan 2nd Training Class tentatively on October 21, 2009, with guest speaker Bill Lamb on the FMS Project Status.
